Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Woman jailed for shoplifting
A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday night at 9:55 p.m. in the 500 block of East Musser Street on a felony burglary by shoplifting offense as well as for misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the report, Angela Bowman was taken into custody after deputies responded to a report of petit larceny in progress.
Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with a security officer and Bowman, who admitted to taking multiple items and placing them in her purse without paying for them, the report said.
The items taken from the store were located in the purse, the report said. Approximate value of stolen items was $34.
A records check from dispatch showed Bowman was currently active within the Department of Alternative Sentencing (DAS) with an "obey all laws" clause. She also had a criminal history of two previous petit larceny convictions, the report said.
Security sought to press charges against Bowman for larceny, and DAS requested a hold be placed on Bowman for violation of her suspended sentence.
She was handcuffed by law enforcement at that point and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $2,500.

— A 19 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 12:14 a.m. in the area of Airport Road and Woodside Drive on multiple misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said, including underage possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving without a valid driver's license and no proof of insurance, no license plate lamp, as well as an active contempt of court warrant issued out of the Carson City Justice Court.
According to the report, a sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop in the area on an SUV that had a non-functioning license plate light. Once the vehicle had stopped, law enforcement observed an unidentified male subject exit the rear passenger side of the SUV and began running south toward Woodside Drive.
The deputy conducting the traffic stop called in additional deputies for support and to locate the subject who had left on foot, the report said.
The suspect driver of the SUV and remaining passengers, meanwhile, were directed to exit the vehicle and were detained. As the driver was questioned, he emitted an odor of marijuana odor. He admitted to having consumed two beers and smoking marijuana two hours earlier.
A records check of the driver through dispatch showed an active arrest warrant out of the Carson City Justice Court. The suspect could produce no valid driver's license or proof of vehicle insurance.
Deputies searching the vehicle located a trace amount of a green, leafy substance recognized as marijuana. Multiple small plastic bags commonly used to package drugs for re-sale were also found.
The subject who had jettisoned the SUV upon the stop was not found by law enforcement authorities.
The suspect driver was handcuffed at that point and transported to the Carson City Jail, where he was booked. Bail: $1,000.
