Local Author Debuts New Book, How To Raise A Rocket Scientist For Fun And Profit
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and Outskirts Press and local author Steve Browne are proud to announce the debut of the inspirational "must- read" new book of the year, How To Raise A Rocket Scientist For Fun and Profit. On October 15, the Carson Cigar Company in downtown Carson City is hosting a book debut and author book-signing party to introduce this powerful novel based on the true story of one woman's incredible journey from being born dead, to overcoming the limitations of cerebral palsy and becoming an employee and future star at NASA working at the Goddard Flight Space Center in College Park, Maryland.
The book is a creative memoir, a fictional retelling of the incredible tale of Katie May Browne, a Carson City girl who rose from being afflicted with cerebral palsy to graduating first in her class, Top Scholar in the College of Engineering at the University of Nevada Reno, attending the NASA Academy For Future Leaders, and then joining NASA as an employee dedicated to helping unlock the mysteries of the universe. Going through Carson City schools and graduating with honors from Carson High in 2006, Katie is truly a "local girl makes good" story and an inspirational example to all of overcoming adversity and gaining success.
At the book debut party, Katie's father and author of the book, Steve Browne, will be available to sign copies and answer questions about this incredible story. He is also available for interiews and can be contacted at carcigar@aol.com or 775-741-3277. The book is also available for sale on Amazon.com in paperback and kindle editions, at Barnes and Noble.com in paperback, and at OutskirtsPress.com in paperback and e-book versions.
