The Cigar Culture Group kick-off in Carson City

Things to do on Thursday: Easter Eggstravaganza, a Timberline trek, and more

Let’s get a jump on Easter weekend. Head down to McFadden Plaza this afternoon for kids activities, an egg hunt, and a special showing of the classic movie ‘Easter Parade.’ The beautiful weather is just begging to be celebrated, so join up with Muscle Powered for a hike up to Timberline. Bring a camera, the views of the valley will be spectacular. Happy birthday to everyone that was born in March. The Carson Cigar Company holds their monthly Birthday Thursday celebration tonight with live music featuring the Trippin King Snakes. If you’re in Dayton, swing by 1st and 10 Sports Bar tonight.

The snow came, it sat, it melted. Luckily the dry roads make for easy commutes. Carson kids don't have school today; it's a scheduled professional day, so that will make the commute easier, as well. You'll find all day bowling specials at Carson Lanes if you're looking for something to do with the kids. Lunchtime at A to Zen features some live music with CW, Dave Leather, and Dr. Bones. Enjoy an outdoor concert with the Sagebrush Rebels at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park. A great way to start your week is by enjoying something beautiful, and luckily Carson City offers a good handful of art exhibits to appreciate. If you missed Industrial Art at the Courthouse, wander over to its new home in the Carson City Library. Today also kicks-off a week-long celebration at the Carson Cigar Company in honor of their 20th Anniversary. A walking tour of our haunted past begins at the corner of Third and Curry with the Downtown Ghost Walk. Celebrate Prohibition-style at the Brewery Arts Center: the annual Speakeasy Swing Dance Party wants to see you in your finest zoot suit or flapper dress. Bikes, and cars, and brews: oh my! Downtown Carson is awash in activity on Saturday. Battleborn Brews, Bikes, and Bubbly features the Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge, vendors, a brewfest, moustache competition and more. The Karson Kruzers are hosting their annual car show at Fuji Park, but will be making their way downtown after it’s over, so there will be plenty of cool cars to admire. Mojo Green takes the stage at 7 p.m. and you can head into the Carson Cigar Company to enjoy Reno’s newest Pink Floyd Tribute Band, Scarlett Moon at 9 p.m.

Wine and cheese are a much better alternative to flies anyday. It’s National Cheese Day and Old Maids Day, so all you single ladies go celebrate; an old maid ain’t what it used to be. For those of you with kids, head over to the Carson City Library to visit with Mother Goose: she knows what to do if one swallows a fly.

Carson Cigar Company's Pedal Patio

Hold on to your hats Carson… or is it… hold on to your bicycle helmets! The Pedal Patio is coming to downtown Carson City this weekend, June 29th. What is the pedal patio? It is a bicycle bar that seats up to fourteen people. You can enjoy a cocktail or martini, while touring downtown on a bicycle built for fourteen. Yes, you get to pedal, drink, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown Carson City. This unique attraction is new to Carson City and on Friday, June 29th, The Carson Cigar Company will be sponsoring tours of the downtown area on this unique ride.
