AAUW Capital Nevada Branch Oct. 2 meeting to focus on economic security
CARSON CITY — The Oct. 2 meeting of AAUW Capital Nevada Branch will feature speakers discussing possible changes to Medicare and Social Security as well as providing information about opportunities for women in advanced technical professions.
Lora Myles, a Carson and rural Elder (CARE) Law Attorney with RSVP Nevada will provide a brief update about possible changes to Medicare and Social Security rights. Ms. Myles works with seniors in rural communities sharing information about their Medicare and Social Security rights and options.
Additionally, Amy Freismdl and Candi Ruf will provide information about Career Technical Education programs available for young women at Carson High and WNC.
"The AAUW Capital (NV) Branch is celebrating our 75th year serving women and girls in the Carson and Eagle Valleys,” said Caroline Punches, President. "Our mission is to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.”
Members and interested members of the public are invited to attend this meeting.
The AAUW Capital Nevada Branch Meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 2. Doors open at 5. The event will be held in the Carson Sheriff’s Office Ormsby Room, 911 E. Musser St.
