LUNAFEST Film Festival comes to Carson City this Thursday
LUNAFEST, the fundraising film festival dedicated to amplifying stories by women and gender nonconforming filmmakers, and bringing people together in their communities, will be hosted by Soroptimist International of Carson City at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City on Thursday, May 11, at 5:30pm.
LUNAFEST believes that sharing diverse perspectives can spark conversation, connection, and change. In a span of 90 minutes, these films tackle universal themes of friendship, bravery, and community — while also breaking down barriers and celebrating the importance of finding joy.
This presentation will feature a special presentation of three community honorees and our Empower, Enrich and Energize sponsors. A special wine, non-alcoholic & coffee bar for two drinks with desserts will be included with the ticket. Moon Dance chocolates will be available for sale.
All proceeds from this LUNAFEST event will benefit Soroptimist International of Carson City and Chicken & Egg Pictures, a nonprofit organization that supports women nonfiction filmmakers whose artful and innovative storytelling catalyzes social change. Since 2001, LUNAFEST, which is created and funded by LUNA, has raised more than $7 million for nonprofit organizations, featured 175 women filmmakers, and hosted over 2,900 screenings across the US. and Canada.
Luna bars will be distributed at the door with your ticket. Tickets will be limited to 250 seats, so get your today:
