The Carson City Host Lions Club is pleased to announce that Samantha DeLallo, the daughter of Jessica DeLallo, has won the local competition in the Peace Poster Contest.

The Carson City School District’s Board of Trustees is pleased to announce nine student winners of the 22nd Annual American Citizen Essay Contest. Each winner was recognized at the school board meeting Tuesday, Nov. 14, and received the following cash prizes: First Place: $100, Second Place: $50 and Third Place: $30. A 59-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony third DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

The next meeting for the Douglas County School Board is on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. The day before will be a rally along US 395 from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
