Carson City deputies make felony arrests for alleged 3rd DUI, battery with deadly weapon
A 59-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony third DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Kelly Davis was taken into custody at 4:45 p.m. following an investigation. According to the report, deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of North Carson Street for a report of an accident in a casino parking lot and that the driver might be intoxicated.
Deputies arrived and made contact with the reporting party who said she had been in her vehicle on a smoke break and watched a white Ford extended cab hit the rear of a parked Toyota Tacoma. The Ford then parked a few spots over taking up four spaces.
The driver of the Ford was located later outside, getting into the passenger side of another vehicle. A deputy asked the driver of that vehicle who the guy with him was. He stated his friend was drunk so he was giving him a ride home, according to the report.
Deputies asked the suspect driver of the Ford to exit the vehicle. The man had red watery eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. He was unsteady on his feet. The officer asked the man if he would do field sobriety tests. The man didn't answer, the report states.
As they moved closer to the suspect's truck, he was asked if it was his. The man told the deputy "just take me to jail." He was asked if he would do tests and the man asked why. The officer asked if he was refusing tests and he said yes. He agreed to a preliminary breath test with a result of .221. He said he knew he was going to jail, the report states.
Blood samples were taken at jail. The man was booked for third DUI with a prior felony conviction. Bail: $20,000.

— A 43-year-old man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Travis Long of Mound House was taken into custody at 2:32 a.m. following an investigation that led to his arrest. According to the report, at 1:49 a.m. sheriff's office deputies was called to a gas station in the 3900 block of Highway 50 East for a report of a vehicle crash.
The reporting party, Travis Long, informed dispatched he had just hit another vehicle and then hung up the phone. An additional caller called 911 and reported Travis Long did not hit the vehicle.
Deputies arrived on scene and saw a Ford F150 parked behind a Scion XB. The Scion was parked in a parking spot in front of the gas station and the Ford was blocking it. The deputy approached the vehicle and a subject exited the Scion. There was moderate damage to the rear door of the Scion. It was apparent the Ford had crashed into the Scion due to damage, the arrest report states.
Deputies interviewed the Scion owner and the suspect. Both knew each other through a family member. Through the investigation, the suspect said he intentionally hit the vehicle. He was arrested for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon. Bail: $30,000.
— A 34-year-old man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor petit larceny and defrauding an innkeeper.
According to the booking report, deputies were called to a casino in the 3800 block of South Carson Street for a report of a person who ordered a meal at a casino restaurant and left without paying. Employees provided a description of the suspect as well as video surveillance footage and receipts for the meal.
At around 12:49 a.m. deputies located the suspect matching the description at a gas station in the 4100 block of south Carson Street. Deputies made contact with the man, who had a Mike's Hard Lemonade in his sweatshirt. He was detained. A deputy spoke with the gas station cashier and learned the man entered the business and approached the counter with several Mike's Hard Lemonades.
The cashier was asked by the suspect if he would loan him the money to pay for the alcohol. The cashier replied no and the suspect left the store. The cashier stated he went to return the alcohol and noticed one was missing from the shelf. The beverage was valued at $2.29. The meal at the casino was valued at $26.87. The suspect was booked for suspicion of defrauding an innkeeper and petit larceny. Bail: $654.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of DUI, open container, unsafe left turn and impeding traffic.
According to the booking report, deputies made a traffic stop on South Carson and Overland Street. The vehicle was traveling westbound from Snyder and went straight through the intersection on South Carson, marked as right-only turn from Snyder, impeding oncoming traffic. The vehicle continued westbound, onto Overland Street, ultimately stopping on the left hand side of Overland Street, the report states.
A deputy made contact with the driver and could smell alcohol emitting from the vehicle. The man's eyes were red and watery. He was asked if he had been drinking. The man stated he had consumed four beers. He agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .204 and was arrested. Bail: $1,833.
— A 26-year-old woman was arrested Saturday for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant. Bail: $1,000.
— A 35-year-old man man, Logan Matthew Schwartz, was arrested Thursday for a felony warrant alleging utter or possess with intent to utter fictitious bill or note and forgery. The warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court.
— A 45-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday for a misdemeanor warrant alleging battery. The warrant was issued out of Carson City Justice Court.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for misdemeanor suspicion of violation of alternative sentencing, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,000 cash.
