Carson City Rotary presentation to focus on future status of electric vehicles
Could an electric vehicle (EV) be in your future? There’s a could chance it could. If you’ve thought about it, but have questions, you’re invited to join members of the Rotary Club of Carson City at its meeting this week.
Doug Tirado, Electric Vehicle Manager for Michael Hohl Motor Company will give a presentation on the current and future status of EVs at the meeting which takes place this Tuesday, Nov. 14, at noon, in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.
“Right now, just over one percent of cars on the road are electric,” he says. “But that number is expected to increase dramatically over the next decade. It’s predicted that by 2035 40 to 50 percent of all cars on the roads will be electric.”
Tirado says better battery technology and range, better charging infrastructure, and cheaper production will fuel electric vehicles popularity. “These cars are really fun to drive, easy to charge and maintain. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a new car or will be soon to come and learn about these cars.
