On the agenda:
— Supervisors will discuss a final subdivision map within the Carson City Airport for six hangar parcels known as the Echo Delta Hangar Condominium Map. The project consists of 10 lots with six hangar parcels, common elements and a remainder parcel on a 1.47 acre site located within the Carson City Airport.
— A new pilot program at the Carson City Jail called the Family Services Unit will be discussed. The program will be created to support inmates with children and at-risk children. A grant would both supply funding for one-time equipment purchases for the pilot program set up, and provide funding for the training, equipment and a grant-funded Family Service Case Worker position for the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. If approved, the grant will cover the on-going cost of the program through Sept. 30, 2025. There is no match required. The grant is for $460,000.
— Supervisors will discuss the acceptance of a grant for an amount not to exceed $180,000 effective Dec. 1, 2023 through Dec. 31, 2024 to fund training, certificate, travel, personnel, equipment and other expenses for the Nevada Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. The grant provides 100 percent funding and has no match requirement.
— The Carson City Fire Department is requesting the purchase of two advanced cardiac monitor/defibrillator units and their accessories, plus a five-year premium subscription service for an amount not to exceed $66,330.62. This purchase will equip Station 53 with equipment for its primary rescue unit, and provide a backup unit when maintenance or repairs are required.
— A purchase request for 27 vehicles for multiple Carson City departments will be discussed in the amount of $3.16 million. Multiple city departments are seeking to replace vehicles that — due to age or condition — are at the end of their useful lives and are no longer cost-effective to maintain. Of the 27 requested, 25 will replace an existing vehicle, and the two remaining vehicles are for the Stormwater Division of the Public Works Department that would be new additions to the city’s fleet.
— Supervisors will discuss allowing utility companies to install and maintain new gas lines and electrical line facilities at Eagle Valley Golf Course at no cost to the city.
— An ordinance change will be discussed on second reading proposing to change zoning on 81 acres from Single Family 12,000 to Single Family 21,000, located to the west of the terminus of Rhodes and Betts Streets.
