The storm was said to be producing torrential rainfall of three inches ore more in one hour, according to a weather service bulletin. The storm was located south of Interstate 80 near USA Parkway.

Hot weather and near-record temperatures will continue in Western Nevada and the Sierra this week, as a ridge of high pressure settles over the region early this week.

Some areas in western Nevada will reach triple digits again with many areas in the Sierra reaching the upper 80's to lower 90's. Carson City is forecast Sunday to reach 97 and 101 on Monday, with Tuesday around 99, according to the National Weather Service.

A wall of blowing dust is moving westward through the I-80 and Highway 50 corridors toward Reno and Carson City, according to the weather service. Winds associated with the system are blowing east 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Visibility associated with the system is down to zero at times.
