Weather Service: Western Nevada temperatures to soar above 100 early next week
Enjoy the light winds and upper 80s and low 90s temperatures this weekend because after Sunday it is going to get triple-digit hot in some areas around western Nevada, according to the National Weather Service.
A ridge of high pressure will bring a significant warming trend to the region with most areas reaching their highest temperatures of the year. Carson City, Douglas and Lyon counties will likely reach triple digits with many areas in the Sierra reaching into the low to mid 90's. Virginia City in Storey County is expected to reach the upper 90s, while Carson City may hit 101 and Reno 103 by Tuesday.
The red line in the graphs above indicate the current forecast high temperature and the black line indicates the 1981-2010 average high temperature.
Confidence is high that temperatures are going to increase significantly however, exact daily temperature forecasts may change slightly. For the latest temperature forecast check out the weather service's State Forecast Table here.
