A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 2:40 a.m. in the area of Telegraph and Stewart streets on misdemeanor charges of DUI, open container and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Saturday on felony suspicion of DUI causing injury and other charges after colliding with a motorcycle rider in the area of College Parkway and Highway 50 East, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Two suspects have been arrested following a search warrant early Wednesday morning at a north Carson City home that drug enforcement authorities say was part of a network of methamphetamine, heroin and prescription pill sales in the area that involved gang members from Southern California.

A disbarred attorney arrested in South Lake Tahoe has been accused of kidnapping 29-year old Denise Huskins of Vallejo, Calif., on March 23, the FBI confirmed Monday.

Carson City sheriff’s deputies are looking for suspects who shot at an east Carson City home Monday night with what appears to be a BB gun. No injuries were reported. The incident happened just after 9 p.m., said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

A Carson City jail inmate was charged Sunday with battery by a prisoner after allegedly fighting with another inmate after he felt “disrespected,” during a workout session according to a Carson City sheriff’s deputy.

Stig Corrin Strong, 25, faces the felony charge after the incident in which an inmate was kicked, choked and battered. Bail has been set at $20,000. According to the arrest report, at around 5 p.m. officers went to check on a cell holding Strong and another inmate after a deputy said there was blood found in the cell.

A man who was found in possession of 6,000 images and 20 videos of child pornography, including child rape, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, lifetime supervised release, and ordered to pay $25,000 in restitution to various victims, announced U.S. Attorney Daniel G. Nevada game wardens are seeking any tips or information on a poached bull elk found on the south side of the Meadow Creek-Jarbidge road in Hunt Unit 071, 10 miles west of the Diamond A Ranch in northern Elko County.

“The bull was shot through the heart and left to rot only 50 yards from Forest Road 071,” said Jason Jackson, game warden for the Nevada Department of Wildlife. “We really want to catch the criminal that stole Nevada’s resources by poaching and wasting this animal.”

Three Dayton women were arrested Sunday on felony drug charges after a search warrant was issued to search a home on Shady Grove, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office. Among the drugs found was approximately 302 grams or 3/4-pound of cocaine, nearly 2 pounds of marijuana as well as packing material to sell and distribute the drugs.

The following arrests by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office happened from Friday to early Monday morning. Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Around 300 grams of methamphetamine was seized and nine people were arrested Thursday in a three-month investigation into methamphetamine distribution, according to the Tri-NET Narcotic Task Force.
