Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Man jailed after allegedly making threats with shotgun

A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for felony assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly threatening three people near the Goni water tower with a gun, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the area and met with three subjects who stated the suspect, identified as Bradley Wayne Williams, 53, had walked up to them and accused them of illegal dumping.

The man then left the area on foot and returned in a green Jeep Cherokee where he allegedly got out of the Jeep with a shotgun in his hands and began to threaten the three, waving the pump-action shotgun around, pointing it at them and pumping it, the arrest report states.

One of the three victims was able to take a photo of the license plate on their phone. Deputies responded to the residence on Maxwell Drive, south of the Goni water tank and Williams was taken into custody and booked on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail: $20,000.

In other arrests: Carson City sheriff’s deputies booked two people Tuesday on felony drug charges after finding approximately 7.2 grams of methamphetamine at a motel room, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested were Dale Allen Welch, 47, and Katrina Kaufman, 48. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the motel in the 1400 block of North Carson Street for a report of a disturbance. Officers were advised by motel management that the occupants in one of the motel rooms were selling and distributing narcotics.

Deputies knocked on the door and made contact with Kaufman and Welch. After being invited in and explaining why they were there, deputies observed, in plain view, narcotics packaging paraphernalia along with a black nylon tactical vest resembling vests worn by law enforcement, handcuffs and a bb gun with optic. Both denied ownership of the vest and equipment.

Based on the information and finding drug paraphernalia, a deputy asked Kaufman for permission to search the room. The woman denied a search. Deputies secured the room and applied for a search warrant, which was granted, the arrest report states.

During the search deputies found glass pipes and two bags full of a combination of used and unused hypodermic needles. Between the mattress and the box spring, officers found a black metal tin containing a scale, numerous small plastic baggies and a blue baggie containing methamphetamine. Inside a purse was a metal tin with methamphetamine. Combined, amounts of meth weighed 7.2 grams, the arrest report states.

Both were arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, a felony. The pair also face possession and paraphernalia charges and were booked on $13,500 bail each.
