Continue your trip to yesteryear with the Carson City Classic Cinema Club. Capital City Arts Initiative welcomes art writer, Chérie Louise Turner to their Nevada Neighbors program. Check out the ART from WNC exhibit in the Community Development Building before her talk ‘From New York to Fallon: Abstract Art Today.’

Tuesday, March 7th from 5 PM to 9 PM Team Hope will be hosting a Fundraiser to benefit the Relay for Life of Carson City/Douglas County at Pizza Factory, Carson City.

Pizza Factory will donate a portion of the proceeds from the evening to the Relay for Life.

Those in the nursing field will want to attend the RN Job Fair at Carson Tahoe Hospital for new opportunities.

Start the Season of Love with a whole month of Share the Love workouts. Bring your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to these awesome, high-energy, Saturday workouts. Children 10 and up are welcome to workout with us. We will provide open gym/childcare for children under 10 for $5 per child, if they are preregistered at least 48 hours ahead of time.

It’s not exactly warm outside, but compared to some of the bitter cold we’ve had this month, it’s not that bad. Take advantage of the dry weather by joining in on the Parks and Recreation Easy Walk in John Mankins Park in Silver Oak. It’s a Jazz Extravaganza at the Community Center tonight. Mile High Jazz Band has teamed up with the Carson High and Carson Middle School jazz bands for their annual concert. The monthly fundraiser at Firehouse Subs makes raising money for Relay for Life as easy as ordering dinner.

Where has the time gone? We are moments away from Labor Day weekend with its Best of the West Rib Cook-off, monthly Downtown Wine Walk, Fallon Cantaloupe Festival, and Virginia City’s Civil War Days. Enjoy a walk in the Ronald D. Wilson Memorial Park, just west of Emerson Drive. Canyon White, the award-winning singer-songwriter, can be found at her weekly gig at Living the Good Life joined by Keith Alan Barnett. Dance it up: swing at El Charro, country line dance at Carson Lanes, or square dancing in Genoa are on the table.
