We're looking at another sunny day in the capital city region with daytime highs in the mid to upper 90s. If you're up for for a walk or bike ride to get the oxygen flowing, it might be best to get it done first thing in the morning. Otherwise, there's plenty of ways to stay cool. Capital City Arts Initiative presents 'Fast Lane, Slow Bake' exhibition

The exhibition runs now to Oct. 24, 2019. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Friday, July 12, 5-7 p.m. in the Sierra Room, and the artists will give a brief talk about their work at 5:30 p.m.

Local Artist Larry Kotik passes away, celebration of life will be June 30

A Silver City resident for the past 20 years, he was best known for painting the mural at Dayton Elementary School, teaching art through local artist in residence programs, coaching track in area high schools, as well as a revered portfolio of fine art.
