It's Your City: Carson City's outdoor concert series returns Saturday with The Original Wailers
With the start of the third season of blockbuster summer outdoor concerts beginning Saturday in Carson City with reggae legends The Original Wailers, it seems fitting for It's Your City to feature the person behind the scenes who pushed locals to successfully vote for a grant to help fund the popular music series.
It's Your City host Cortney Bloomer sits down with Gina Hill, director of the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City, to talk about the 10 free Saturday evening concerts at the BAC campus, which begins June 23.

Sponsored by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation, a national foundation dedicated to strengthening the social fabric of America through free live music, was picked again as one of 15 winning organizations that competed nationally for the Levitt AMP Grant Awards just as they did in 2016 and 2017.
The Levitt AMP Grant Awards are an exciting matching grant opportunity created by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation out of Los Angeles to serve small to mid-sized towns and cities with populations up to 400,000.
Brewery Arts Center will produce the concerts on the Minnesota Street Stage in the center of their two block campus every Saturday night for 10 weeks. This family friendly events feature food trucks and children’s activities such as Harmony Sculpture Park, art wall and bounce houses, there is seating available, or audiences can bring their own chairs. The venue is barrier free, which allows concertgoers access to quality live music.
The entire concert series which kicks off this Saturday with legends of reggae, The Original Wailers, featuring Bob Marley's lead guitarist, Al Anderson, who played with Bob Marley and The Wailers.
