A man reported missing at Lake Tahoe since August 13, has been found alive, according to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department in a statement Tuesday.

After receiving several tips from people having seen reports in the media, investigators have made personal telephone contact with Zbigniew “Zibi” Moryn, who is safe, and currently in Missouri.

Dayton resident Lois Heflin is in her second battle with cancer and even with insurance, bills are mounting.

Rob Hooper of the Northern Nevada Development Authority recently penned an apology for the commerce tax passed last month by Nevada’s legislature and signed by Gov. Brian Sandoval. NNDA exists to promote investment in Nevada, so he tried to put the best face possible on this abomination.
However, Nevadans deserve the unvarnished facts about this particularly pernicious tax. So we’ll respond to his key points.

Claim: "The margins tax was a bad piece of legislation because it taxes all companies the same" but the commerce tax creates needed flexibility.

Volunteers participated in Carson City's first Trash Mob bright and early Saturday morning, setting their sights and trash bags on the south side of College Parkway near the I-580 overpass.

Volunteer Randy Gaa said he noticed the trash along the multi-use path and wanted to do something about it. As a member of Muscle Powered, a community group that advocates bicycling and pedestrian friendly development, he brought up his concerns to Donna Inversin, Muscle Powered's president.

Nevada being a 24/7 state means that at any given time the possibility exists that someone is operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated or impaired. Fire restrictions on National Forest System lands in the Lake Tahoe Basin begin Wednesday, July 1, 2015, and will remain in effect until the official end of fire season, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
Campfires will be restricted to certain exempted recreation sites and other fire-related activities will be prohibited.
