Runners and walkers came out Saturday evening in support of Advocates to End Domestic Violence (AEDV), a Carson City 501(c)3 registered non-profit devoted to supporting domestic violence victims and ending the cycle, at Riverview Park in East Carson City.

A single file line of people dressed in black silently made its way from the State Capitol grounds north along Carson Street Saturday morning to raise awareness of human trafficking in Nevada, nationwide and around the world.

Nevada Day and the big parade are just one week away, but first is the annual Carson City Ghost Walk this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in downtown Carson City.

Capital City C.I.R.C.L.E.S. Initiative, a Carson City non-profit helping to combat poverty, will hold its annual "A Gem of an Evening" auction and fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 20 from 3-6 p.m. at Genoa Lakes Golf Course Supper Club.
