Ahead Friday is the annual KTVN Share Your Christmas Drive-By Food Drive held locally at the Governor's Mansion and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn. It is also the 6th annual Project Empty Bowls at Carson Mall, which has become a local soup for the soul favorite stop.

Prestige and Carson Tahoe Health to provide senior care services to Carson City region
Submitted by editor on Tue, 02/18/2014 - 5:31pmPrestige Care and Prestige Senior Living, leaders in skilled nursing and rehabilitation care, announced plans Tuesday to join with Carson Tahoe Health to expand senior care services and offer comprehensive memory care to Carson City residents and their families.
As a first step in the relationship, the organizations will develop a community with 40 units for memory care services on the Carson Tahoe Specialty Medical Center campus. Construction will begin in 2014.
The Lodge Assisted Living Community to sponsor SOLEmates Shoe Drive

The second annual event, which runs through September, benefits students enrolled in the Carson City School District’s McKinney-Vento/Children in Transition program.
The grant and donation funded program helps to provide shoes, clothing, hygiene products and school supplies to students who lack a fixed living situation. The program helped nearly 600 students last school year and is expected to help the same number or more this year.

New Administrator Named at the Lodge Assisted Living and Memory Care Community

Ms. Haack has worked at The Lodge for more than two years as the Wellness Coordinator.
Haack has extensive experience working with elders in the Carson City and Carson Valley areas. Prior to joining the Lodge she worked at the Carson Valley Residential Care Center in Gardnerville for many years and has also worked as a private in home caregiver. She believes that working with elders is a true calling.
