Carson Tahoe Expressions Memory Care to present brain health seminar Dec. 7
Carson Tahoe Expressions Memory Care will hold a seminar on brain health Friday, Dec. 7 from 6-8 p.m. in the Bristlecone Room at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, 600 Medical Parkway in Carson City.
Dr. Robert Winningham, Ph.D., will present, "Train Your Brain: An Evidence-based and Holistic Approach to Optimal Brain Health."
Mounting evidence suggests that lifestyle factors, including staying mentally and physically active, can delay memory problems. Dr. Winningham will discuss recent research related to the "use it or lose it" theory of memory and aging.
He will share the very latest research on the effects of physical exercise, nutrition, and social support on the likelihood of developing memory problems.
Dr. Winningham is a professor of psychology and gerontology at Western Oregon University. He authored "Train Your Brain: How to Maximize Memory Ability in Older Adulthood," and has an avid following for “Dr. Rob’s Cranium Crunches.”
