Wildfires reported in Dayton, Silver Springs areas
UPDATE 8:08PM: According to the Lyon County Facebook page, the Fort Churchill Fire near Dayton is 200 acres with 95 percent containment. No structures threatened or damaged. Power may be disrupted in the area.

Wildfires have been reported this evening in the Dayton and Silver Springs/Stagecoach areas, with Carson City Fire Department being asked to help as part of a mutual aid effort, according to dispatch.
In Dayton a wildfire was reported burning in the Fort Churchill Road area near Chavez Road. Another fire was reported by Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch as being on Cowboy Court in the Silver Springs/Stagecoach area.

Isolated thunderstorms developed over Western Nevada late into the afternoon and early evening. The entire Western Nevada region is under a Red Flag Fire Weather Warning due to hot and dry conditions and areas of widespread dry grass, brush and trees. Lightning strikes are capable of producing new fires, which may spread rapidly due to strong outflow winds, according to the weather service.
