UPDATE 3:08PM: The following is a statement from Carson City School District Superintendent Richard Stokes regarding the passing of Timothy Jones.
“Our hearts ache for all the families and individuals involved in the car accident in Kings Canyon. We learned yesterday from law enforcement that one of our students passed away. Throughout the day today, the administration at Carson High School has provided and will continue to provide, as needed this week, grief counseling and support for students and staff. As more is learned about a memorial service, we will pass that information along.”

Nevada law enforcement campaign looks for drivers, passengers not wearing seatbelts

Northern Nevada deputies and troopers will be stopping drivers for different traffic offenses and issuing citations for seatbelt violations now through Dec. 2, 2017.
Carson City Sheriff Furlong names Ken Sandage as New Undersheriff

Mr. Sandage will assume the duties and responsibilities vacated by retiring Undersheriff Steve Albertsen. Ken Sandage, a decorated 26 year veteran with the Sheriff’s Office, has held the executive administrative position of Assistant Sheriff since August 22, 2014.

There will be a candlelight gathering on Sunday, 6:30 p.m. at Bob McFadden Plaza in Carson City for the seven high school students who were injured in a vehicle crash that happened Thursday night on Kings Canyon Road.
Pick-up Soccer Tournament Saturday morning to benefit injured CHS students

Organized by Junior Ramirez, a member of Carson Futbol Club, the soccer tournament will be held at Talents Athletic Center: 2749B North Carson Street on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Teams must be 6 person. The fundraising fee is $50 per team. Teams can be co-ed.
