Nevada Ag Department: Band of 16 wild horses in Carson City to be vaccinated and relocated

On Monday, Feb. 6, the Nevada Department of Agriculture gathered 16 feral horses that were wandering in east Carson City for about three weeks. The horses will be vaccinated with fertility control drugs, as part of an agreement between the NDA and the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign and then relocated to an area south of Highway 50 near Stagecoach.

Super Bowl Sunday: Where to watch, things to do around Carson City

Area you ready for some football? North, south, east, west, or downtown: there’s a good time to be found: drink specials and football squares everywhere. Muscle Powered Easy Hike to Centennial Park East

Meet at the back of Centennial Park, across from the baseball fields on Heritage Way. We will walk the Lower Road which loops back around the golf course. Closed-toed shoes and water are required. Bring a friend and/or friendly dogs. Walking sticks recommended.

Muscle Powered Easy Hike program are hikes of between 2 to 4 miles in length, often with some elevation gain (no more than 500') and can be on a paved path, smooth wide trail, or single track. The hikes will usually be of approximately 1 1/2 duration.
