One of the most notable celebrations is that in Times Square in Manhattan. This has been an annual event in New York since 1907.
Nearly every television station will broadcast the “ball drop” in Times Square: A large, lighted crystal ball sliding down a 77-foot pole over the course of the last minute of the year. When the ball reaches the bottom, it is the New Year.

(CMI) released its quarterly report, which included a number of statements and topics important to Silver City. CMI’s ultimate goal of an open pit mine in Silver City remains unchanged. The company plans to begin the permitting process for the Dayton Mine by the end of the year. “We are marching toward Dayton feasibility come hell or high water,” according to company CEO Corrado DeGasperis, with production plans ready to go in two years.

Submitted by Jeff Munson on Thu, 07/27/2017 - 10:20amUPDATE FRIDAY: The Carson City District Attorney’s Office, in its criminal complaint, argues the victim was repeatedly sexually abused from the ages of 10 to 12, when the suspect was between the ages 16 to 18 years of age.
The District Attorney’s Office cites Nevada Revised Statutes 171.083 and NRS 171.085 in its prosecution of the case, which can be found here.
