Carson City crime log: Man jailed for suspicion of third DUI
A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Friday morning for suspicion of felony third DUI, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Scott Anthony Atkins was arrested at 2:36 a.m. in the 3400 block of South Carson Street. According to the arrest report a deputy was called to the area regarding a suspicious vehicle in the middle of a street with its engine running.
Two men were in the vehicle, Atkins and a passenger. Both admitted to drinking alcohol, with the passenger stating he was being dropped off near his home after the two had been at a bar. The officer learned the suspect had driven from the bar on North Carson Street and that he had five beers.
Atkins provided a preliminary breath test with a partial sample of .230. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken into custody where he consented to a blood draw. A review of Atkins license and criminal history revealed two prior DUI convictions from Carson City Justice Court in April 2015 and December 2010. Bail: $20,000.
