Meadowood Mall is hosting the 16th Annual Canstruction from March 6th-10th in Center Court. The structures will be built starting March 6th in Center Court, and mall visitors will be encouraged to cast votes for our award ceremony on March 7th.

The structures will be on display around the center following the award ceremony until they are taken down on March 10th. This unique design and build competition is presented by local sponsors such as Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry and will be benefitting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Sierra Lutheran student-athlete named Gatorade Nevada Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year

In its 34th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company has announced Jared Marchegger of Sierra Lutheran High School as its 2018-19 Gatorade Nevada Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Marchegger is the second Gatorade Nevada Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year to be chosen from Sierra Lutheran High School.

Carson City swears in four new deputies, number of officers equal to pre-recession says Sheriff

In a swearing in ceremony held Thursday afternoon, four additional deputies were sworn into service for the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Ken Furlong said during the ceremony the number of sworn officers are now up to pre-recession 2010 levels.

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Museum of Art announced the 2019 Scholastic Art Award Winners, and on the list were a senior and junior from Carson High and one seventh-grader from Carson Middle School. Tibetan monks from the Gaden Shartse Monastery will return to Carson City and South Lake Tahoe this month as part of their two-year tour of the United States.

During their Carson City visit, from Jan. 15-20, the monks will construct a Manjushri, also known as Buddha of Wisdom Sand Mandala.
