Carson City road report: Motorists can expect detours, closures for Monday's inauguration
Monday is inauguration day at the State Capitol in Carson City. Motorists can expect traffic impacts around downtown Carson City near the Capitol prior to the ceremony.
Nevada Governor elect Stephen F. Sisolak will take the oath of office on the front steps of the Capitol at 11:30 a.m. Capitol grounds will open prior to the ceremony at 10:30 a.m. and a public reception will follow at the Nevada State Library and Archives located on the northeast corner of the Capitol complex.
The following streets will be closed beginning beginning at around 5:30 a.m. :
— Carson Street, between Fifth and Musser streets.
— Fifth Street, between Carson and Stewart streets.
— Musser Street, between Carson and Stewart streets.
— King Street, between Stewart and Valley streets.
Streets will reopen at the conclusion of the inauguration event.

Meanwhile, the following lane restrictions are expected at the following locations this week due to road and utility work:
— 5th Street will have reduced lanes between Saliman Road and I-580 overpass, Monday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— 5th Street will have reduced lanes between Stewart Street and Saliman Road, Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
— Goni Road will have reduced lanes between College Parkway and Boeing Way, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
