The Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] announces its student exhibition, "ART from UNR", at the Community Development Building [the Brick], 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City. Here is this week's road report for August 7-13, 2017: The I-580 freeway extension is open. Road closures are expected at the following locations due to road/utility work. Please follow detours.

Due to expected inclement weather, all three harmonica events today, Sunday, Aug. 6, will be held in the Brewery Arts Center (BAC) Performance Hall. The Red Tango performance will still be in the BAC Ballroom from 1 to 3 p.m. as planned. These are all part of the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival.

Organizers of the weekly Levitt AMP Carson City Concert Series have moved Saturday's venue from the Minnesota Street Stage to inside the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall due to thunderstorms and rain showers moving through the area this evening.

Tonight's music, featuring the sounds of Thee Commons as opener and Whatitdo as headline act, will play as scheduled until 10 p.m.

Wine and jazz mixed together Saturday as the 2017 Jazz and Beyond Carson City Music Festival has gotten underway for its three-week festival.

Families, including many wide-eyed children, experience heavy equipment and other working vehicles up close at the Touch-a-Truck event held Saturday in the Carson City Library parking lot.

While Hot August Nights begins its 31st annual celebration with festivities in Virginia City this weekend, the Nevada state capital is host to another oldie, but goody.

My family and I were barbecuing in front of our house when we saw two bucks eating our bushes. We kept our distance of course, and they didn't seem nervous or disturbed by us being out there along side them. One appears to be a 12 or 13 point buck.
