The Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] announces its student exhibition, "ART from UNR", at the Community Development Building [the Brick], 108 E Proctor Street, Carson City. The Nevada Artists Association has received a record number of entries for it's annual photo exhibition in Carson City.
A judged event, local and regional artists were invited to enter two photos for display in the NAA Gallery exhibit which opened Sunday, August 6, and which will run through Sept. 8, 2017.

Jazz and Beyond Carson City harmonica events Sunday moved to BAC Performance Hall

Due to expected inclement weather, all three harmonica events today, Sunday, Aug. 6, will be held in the Brewery Arts Center (BAC) Performance Hall. The Red Tango performance will still be in the BAC Ballroom from 1 to 3 p.m. as planned. These are all part of the Jazz and Beyond Music Festival.

Levitt AMP concert moved indoors

Organizers of the weekly Levitt AMP Carson City Concert Series have moved Saturday's venue from the Minnesota Street Stage to inside the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall due to thunderstorms and rain showers moving through the area this evening.

Tonight's music, featuring the sounds of Thee Commons as opener and Whatitdo as headline act, will play as scheduled until 10 p.m.

Carson City deer buck up for barbecue

My family and I were barbecuing in front of our house when we saw two bucks eating our bushes. We kept our distance of course, and they didn't seem nervous or disturbed by us being out there along side them. One appears to be a 12 or 13 point buck.
