Staying connected to students, virtually, is the biggest challenge every educator is facing right now. Teachers, paraprofessionals, school counselors, administrators, school secretaries, custodians, and everyone for that matter is missing the energy and life students bring to our worlds.

Two Carson City men found in a vehicle reported stolen were arrested late Sunday for suspicion of felony burglary and other offenses after allegedly stealing several cases of alcohol from a casino storage area.

A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI following an incident at a North Carson Street pizza takeout restaurant.

The Carson City Charter Review Committee is seeking public input for possible amendments to the Carson City Charter. The governing ordinance requires that proposed amendments to the Charter be heard and discussed by the Committee, who then provides recommendation to the Board of Supervisors.

Gas smell at Carson City grocery store determined to be from semi truck blown tire at loading dock

Carson City Fire Department responded early Wednesday evening to a reported gas leak at a South Carson Street grocery store. The gas smell was determined to be coming from a semi-truck that had blown a tire.

Carson City sheriff's arrests: 3 jailed after baby ingests meth

Three were arrested Saturday for suspicion of child neglect and endangerment among other charges after a baby was brought into the hospital emergency room for ingesting methamphetamine, a Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team arrest report states.

Carson City area businesses react to closure orders, many unsure of mandated procedures

By noon Wednesday, all "non-essential" businesses in Nevada were required to shut down by state decree in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. However, some local business owners were confused as to the procedure for the shut down, which businesses in fact are required to close and in what ways can they remain open.

Carson City deputies arrest mental health subject for repeatedly calling 911

A 33-year-old Carson City man suffering a mental health episode was arrested in the area of N Carson Street and W. Winnie Street for repeatedly calling 911.

According to the report, the man was arrested after he called 911 stating that his PTSD medication was out and that he wanted to go to Mallory, but he did not want to kill himself.
