Carson City arrests: Incident over pizza takeout leads to arrest for suspicion of DUI

A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI following an incident at a North Carson Street pizza takeout restaurant.

According to the arrest report, at 6:45 p.m. Carson City sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the restaurant in the 2400 block of North Carson Street in reference to an unruly female customer. Dispatch advised the female was inside the restaurant and that she was upset about the wait time for her pizza.

Deputies arrived and spoke with employees who reported the female was associated with an SUV with a trailer and an ATV. An officer saw the vehicle parked in front of the restaurant, the report states. The engine was running and a male was sleeping in the driver's seat, which was in an upright position and he had his seat belt fastened.

The female was then seen coming out of the restaurant with a pizza in her hand, the report states. A deputy addressed the woman about the incident in the restaurant. The woman appeared intoxicated, the report states.

A deputy spoke with the male driver of the vehicle parked, who admitted to drinking. As two deputies were speaking, the female then got into the vehicle, and the man immediate began eating pizza from the box, the arrest report states.

Officers asked the man to step out of the vehicle. Deputies observed the man had red eyes and a moderate odor of alcohol on his person. Th man said he had been drinking while using the ATV on trails earlier in the day, and that he stopped drinking around 11 a.m., the report states. He submitted to standardized field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment, the arrest report states.

He provided a preliminary breath test of .086. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Deputies read the man a request for voluntary evidence. The man stated he would submit to evidentiary testing and requested a breath test. His breath test returned with results of .072 and .073, the report states. Bail: $1,137.

— A 58-year-old Carson City man, Gary Paul Christiansen, was arrested April 17 for a felony warrant alleging exploitation of an elderly person. Noted in the arrest report is that the Nevada Department of Parole and Probation requested the man be placed on a violation hold because he was allegedly in violation of his conditions of probation by being brought into custody for new criminal charges. Bail: $15,000 and a parole and probation hold.

— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 18 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, and two misdemeanors, a sheriff's deputy report states.

Thomas Oliver McComas was arrested at 7:29 p.m. in the 2000 block of East William Street.

Deputies responded to a call regarding a domestic situation. Deputies learned the argument was verbal and not physical. During the investigation, the man stated he had located 2 small baggies of cocaine in an apartment, the report states. The contents were not enough to weigh but tested positive for cocaine via a NARTEC test, the arrest report states.

Deputies advised the man had a violation of suspended sentence warrant issued in December 2019. He was arrested for the warrant and for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Total bail amount listed: $6,637.
