Protest against shut down at Capitol in Carson City ignores social distancing mandate, calls for Nevada to reopen
Hundreds gathered today at the Capitol building in Carson City to protest the shut down in Nevada. Some began at the Capitol building while others gathered at Red’s 395 Grill and marched down Carson Street.
There were very few masks to be seen, and protesters gathered closely together ignoring the 6 foot mandate.
Others drove up and down Carson Street in their cars, honking horns and waving flags.
Many chanted things such as, “End the shutdown,” “One nation under God,” and “Recall Sisolak.”
According to dispatch just before 12 p.m., traffic is backed up all the way to Fairview on Carson Street. Motorists should seek alternate routes.
