Carson River Trail System Phase II opens; connects with nearly 5,000 acres of open space

These fun new trails are part of a network of non-motorized paths that connect residents with almost 5,000 acres of Carson City Parks and Open Space within the Carson River/Prison Hill area. Future plans include completing a multi-use path around Prison Hill.
Carson City arrests: Man asking patrons for money booked for alleged drug offenses

Carson City deputies arrest three for possession of stolen kayaks which were found damaged and graffitied with swastikas
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 05/22/2020 - 12:49pmTwo 23-year-old New Mexico men and a 26-year-old Carson City man were arrested in the 5000 block of Carson River Road for felony possession of or receiving stolen property.
According to the report, Stephen Henderson, Daryne James Deck and Terrance Dale Shields were arrested after deputies were dispatched to the Carson River Park to meet with the theft victim.

Capital City Reads: My First Summer in the Sierra

Capital City Reads takes place every April as a celebration of National Library Week, bringing people together through reading and discussion.
This year’s program starts with National Library Week on April 19 and will run through May 16.

Events, activities and more are lined up today including the first day of the three-day police officer motorcycle challenge at Mills Park, morning walks, Cruise Night at Empire Ranch Golf Course and live music outdoors at Living the Good Life.

There's Flag Day ceremonies at the Nevada Veterans Memorial and at the Elks Lodge. The Stewart Father’s Day Powwow happens Friday to Sunday and features hundreds of American Indian dancers, drummers artists and cultural enthusiasts. Lace up the tennis shoes for the Eastside Historical tour of the capital city hosted by Muscle Powered. Journey of Hope returns to Western Nevada College at 5 p.m. to settle into the evening. Open Mic Night at A to Zen will cap-off an eventful Friday heading into the weekend.
