Carson City gaming revenue flat in October, South Tahoe up nearly 16.2 percent

Casinos in Carson City and Carson Valley report relatively flat gaming revenue in October while casinos in Stateline at Lake Tahoe saw a 16.19 percent increase, according to figures released Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Suspect in Montage apartment shooting in downtown Reno shot and killed

“Our hearts ache for all the families and individuals involved in the car accident in Kings Canyon. We learned yesterday from law enforcement that one of our students passed away. Throughout the day today, the administration at Carson High School has provided and will continue to provide, as needed this week, grief counseling and support for students and staff. As more is learned about a memorial service, we will pass that information along.”

Nevada law enforcement campaign looks for drivers, passengers not wearing seatbelts

The Nevada Highway Patrol will be Joining Forces looking for drivers and other occupants in vehicles who are not wearing their seatbelts and, or children who are not properly secured in car or booster seats. Northern Nevada deputies and troopers will be stopping drivers for different traffic offenses and issuing citations for seatbelt violations now through Dec. 2, 2017.

Carson City arrests: Man breaks into home, helps himself to food

A 35-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony home invasion after allegedly breaking into a home and helping himself to food in the kitchen, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
