Carson City's Homestead Holiday braces for weekend storm, potential for some events to cancel
This weekend, the annual Homestead Holidays at Silver Saddle Ranch in Carson City is still slated to take place, but Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space will be keeping an eye on the weather in case it becomes severe.
"Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space is making every effort to hold the Homestead Holidays event this year," Arts and Culture Supervisor Sierra Scott said. "However, some days of the event may be cancelled due to safety concerns in the case of severe rain or snow."
The current weather for this weekend shows a partly cloudy Friday with a high of 42 degrees. On Saturday, rain and snow is expected beginning at around 7 a.m. and a high of 41 degrees. On Sunday, a cooler front will move in bringing the high down to 35 degrees, with snow expected only through 7 a.m.
Before coming to the event, organizers highly recommend that community members check for up-to-date cancellation information at https://facebook.com/CCPRDept, https://www.Carson.org/Homesteadholidays or call 775-283-7629.
Carson Now will also provide updates depending upon whether or not certain events at Homestead Holidays are cancelled.
