Arizona Man wanted on over 40 sex crime charges arrested in South Lake Tahoe

Members of the U.S. Marshals Office traced an Arizona man to South Lake Tahoe after he left the state prior to a court appearance on over 40 counts of sex crimes.

Gordon Golding, 56, was arrested by the marshals with assistance from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at a home on Margaret Street on November 19. He is currently in the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe on a felony fugitive from justice warrant, awaiting extradition to Arizona.

Golding did not show up for a September 2021 court hearing where he faced charges of crimes including sexual abuse, sexual voyeurism, sexual conduct with a minor, and involving minors in a drug offense. He had been arrested in 2019 on the charges, released from custody on a $7,500 cash bond since he agreed to wear an ankle monitor, had no passport, and he self-surrendered to police.

According to law enforcement, Golding cut it off and ended up in South Lake Tahoe. He was arrested as he rode his bicycle to the home on Margaret Street where he was living. He was using a falsified Arizona Driver's License to hide his true identity while in South Lake Tahoe.

Golding allegedly used his position as a kickboxing instructor to develop relationships with underage girls and then committed multiple sex acts with them, U.S. Marshals said.

“The arrest of this dangerous sex offender was made possible by outstanding investigative work by Phoenix Police Detectives in collaboration with U.S. Marshal fugitive task forces in Arizona and Nevada”, said United States Marshal David Gonzales in a press release.
