Carson City arrests: Two jailed for burglary, drug offenses after alleged RV park break-in
Two Carson City men were arrested Tuesday for suspicion of burglary and other alleged offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Thomas Dias, 53, and Daniel Lee Banta, 38, were taken into custody at 10:14 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Carson Street. The men were also booked for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the booking report, a CCSO deputy on patrol responded to a North Carson Street RV park for a report of a residential burglary. The deputy met with RV park staff who advised of noise coming from a travel trailer parked in a space.
Trailer park staff responded to the space to speak with the residents and to ask them to turn down their music. The owner did not recognize the subjects in the trailer, describing them to the sheriff's deputy as being belligerent and aggressive, according to the arrest report.
RV park staff advised the owner of the trailer, who was not on the property at the time, of the situation. The owner of the trailer said the travel trailer should not be occupied. RV park staff then called the sheriff's office to report the incident.
Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at the location and placed both suspects, Dias and Banta, under arrest for suspicion of burglary. During the arrests deputies located suspected methamphetamine. Total bail amount listed for each: $13,637 each.
