WNC Scholarship Workshop for Student Vets on Dec. 11
Western Nevada College has scheduled a free workshop on the Carson City campus to help veterans apply for college scholarships.
The two-hour workshop is being presented by the Veterans Resource Center on Thursday, Dec. 11, 1 p.m. It will assist veterans in applying for WNC scholarships through the WNC Foundation Scholarship program, as well as two $500 scholarships provided by the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Tim Galluzi, assistant supervisor of the VRC and an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, said that scholarships to assist veterans have gone unclaimed in the past.
“We’re putting on these vets-only workshops to make sure money isn’t being left on the table,” Galluzi said.
The workshop is in Cedar Building room 327. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop computer if they own one.
To reserve a spot in the workshop, phone 775-445-3302 or email wncveterans@gmail.com. WNC spring classes on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Find out more about general enrollment and registration at www.wnc.edu.
