Reno Phil brings the holidays to life with Spirit of the Season
The holiday season comes to life with the Reno Phil’s annual celebration, Spirit of the Season, Dec. 5 and 6 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts.
A traditional northern Nevada favorite for the entire family, the Reno Phil orchestra and chorus provide a whimsical and energetic performance featuring a variety-style combination of singers, dancers, jolly Saint Nick himself and other special guests, including more than 200 students on violin. The concert is conducted by Dr. Jason Altieri and Jennifer Tibben, Chorus Director.
Spirit of the Season’s special guests include Mariachi, bell ringers, Fascinating Rhythm dancers, the Reed High School Vocal Ensemble, acapella and vocal soloists, and Santa Claus with his elves. The music program includes holiday music favorites and classic carols such as Spirit of the Season, A Feast of Carols, Hanukah Festival, Go Tell it on the Mountain and a Christmas sing-along. An estimated 250+ musicians, singers, dancers and performers join to celebrate the season in this festive holiday concert.
The Reno Phil offers three Spirit of the Season performances; Saturday, Dec. 5 includes two shows, a 2 p.m. matinee and an 8 p.m. show; the final performance is Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. All shows are at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. Doors open one hour before each performance. Group Rates are available by calling the Reno Phil Box Office at 775-323-6393.
Ticket prices range from $15 to $70; transaction fees may apply. A ticket is required for each person attending the concert, no matter the age. Purchase tickets online at RENOPHIL.COM.
