Carson City crime log: Arrests made for domestic battery, shoplifting, drugs and DUI

A 42-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for felony suspicion of burglary by shoplifting, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Christina Michelle Pasos was arrested Sunday, 3:30 p.m. at a grocery store in the 500 block of East William Street.

According to the arrest report, a deputy responded to the store where security had detained the suspect. Security said they watched the woman walk into the store and select $697.19 worth of goods from the shelves and placed them in her cart.

Security followed the woman past all cash registers. They contacted her outside of the business and escorted her back inside. The security officer advised he had seen the woman do the same thing less than a month ago, loading up her cart, pushing it outside and leave without paying.

The woman was Mirandized. She advised her sole intent was to enter the grocery store and steal the groceries. She said she did the same thing about a month prior and was successful in the theft and felt confident she could do it again, the arrest report states.

She was arrested for suspicion of burglary by shoplifting, a felony. Bail: $2,500.

According to the arrest report the woman was located by casino security in a casino restroom stall unconscious. The woman was later located on the casino floor and showed signs of recent heroin use.

She was asked if she had anything illegal. The woman said needles, adding they weren’t illegal to have. She was asked why she had the needles. The woman replied “for drugs,” the arrest report states.

The woman was asked if she had anything else. The woman acknowledged “probably just a bag.” She produced a plastic bag out of her pocket that counted heroin tar. Inside her backpack were three hypodermic needles, one that had a dark liquid substance loaded in the syringe. She was arrested for suspicion of possession and paraphernalia. Bail: $3,500.

The jail deputy checked the woman’s phone records and confirmed the $30 was transferred and, through the phone records, found that the 41-year-old suspect had been using the victim inmate’s phone pin and making phone calls.

The deputy spoke with the suspect and read her Miranda rights that she agreed to waive. She admitted to using the phone pin and transferring the money. Bail: $500.
