Good morning Nevada Day Parade goers. Here’s an update from the National Weather Service on today’s system: Low pressure will move away from the Sierra and Western Nevada today with rain tapering to showers by afternoon.
What had been forecasted to be about a 90 percent chance of rain today in Carson City is now 40 percent, according to the weather service. You’ll still will want to bring an umbrella and a jacket. The high temperature today is expected to be around 52. Tonight, there will be an even slighter chance for rain and snow showers, about 20 percent.
If you’re traveling to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra today, there is a Winter Storm Warning through 11 a.m. this morning.
Light snow and snow showers will continue this morning, with 2 to 4 inches above 7,000 feet, with higher amounts near the crest. Snow levels are expected to fall to around 5,500 to 6,000 feet this morning.
