Bar brawl leads to arrest of two Carson City men; officer treated after being kicked in the head

Two Carson City men face felony battery charges against police officers after a large fight broke out at a local tavern on Saturday night. In the fight, a deputy was kicked in the head and taken to the hospital.
Christoper Alan Barr, 27, and Jeffrey Darrel Zumbro, 25, each face charges of felony battery. Barr remains in jail on $30,000 bail. Zumbro was released Sunday on $30,000 bail.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to Mo and Sluggos bar on Telegraph Street about 7:15 after a fight broke out. The fight had ended when officers arrived but the bartender asked deputies to escort several out of the bar because they were drunk and causing trouble.
Barr was identified as one to be removed. Deputy Craig Erven approached Barr and said he would be escorted outside. According to the arrest report, Barr become "very agitated" an began to turn away from the officer. The officer grabbed the man's right arm and began to walk with him out to the exit. A few steps later, Barr swung his right arm forward in a quick motion and brok the hold the officer had on him. Barr told the officer "get your f***ing hands off of me," according to the arrest report.
The momentum swung the officer in front of Barr where he then wrapped his arms around him into bear hug position and pushed the officer into a wall. A second officer, Deputy Gary Underhill, attempted to take Barr to the ground where Barr continued to resist. The officer then removed his Taser and cartridge and attempted a "drive stun" to the lower left quardrant of Barr's back but the Taser malfunctioned.
Both deputies managed to get Barr to the ground and just as they did, Jeffery Zumbro kicked Deputy Underhill in the head with his boot, according to the arrest report. At that time, an NHP trooper arrived and began to assist other officers as the crowd inside the bar gew agitated.
Both men were taken to jail and submitted to blood alcohol tests, which showed they were intoxicated. Zumbro's test was a .093 and Barr, .097, according to the arrest report.
Deputy Underhill was taken to the hospital to get checked out. He said on Sunday that his head was still sore from the kick. He said the scene at the bar grew intense but that every unit on the street responded when he called for backup.
