From March to May, tree experts from Wood Rodgers, Inc. conducted a comprehensive inventory of every tree on the Capitol grounds. Along the way, they uncovered incredible finds, and now it’s your turn to explore and see them up close.
Here are a few of the fascinating discoveries you will look for:
Trees dedicated to each of Nevada’s 17 counties: In 1986, then-Governor Richard Bryan celebrated Nevada’s Arbor Day by dedicating a tree to each county.
Nevada’s dual state trees: Did you know Nevada has two state trees? The Singleleaf Pine was declared in 1953, followed by the Bristlecone Pine in 1987.
Sesquicentennial Incense Cedar: In 2015, Gov. Brian Sandoval dedicated this stately tree to commemorate Nevada’s 150th birthday.
