Carson City Sheriff's Office: Two jailed in separate domestic battery incidents
An 18-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Tuesday on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery after she allegedly scratched her boyfriend's face following an argument over a text message, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies met with the victim at a residence in the 2000 block of Lone Mountain Drive who stated he and his girlfriend were involved in a physical altercation after a text message was received to the woman's phone by another male. The victim said he took the phone to see who was texting her phone and she scratched his face to get the phone back.
The officer observed red and blue discoloration on the man’s face where he stated he was scratched.
The woman stated she was upset that he was not giving her phone back and scratched his face to get the phone back. She was arrested at 5:23 a.m. on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
In other arrests:
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 3:08 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Carson Street for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued April 8, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,090.
— A 25-year-old Reno man was arrested Monday, 11:11 p.m. in the 700 block of Fleischmann Way on suspicion of resisting a public officer. According to the arrest report, the man was suffering from hullicinations at Behavioral Health Services, where he was brought in by family to receive treatment for methamphetamine addiction. Officers determined the man to be a danger to himself and others due to his unstable behavior. Officers attempted to place him into custody with the man resisting. Officers were able to get the man to calm down and escorted him out of the facility. Bail: $412.
— A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 5:06 p.m. at 20 College Parkway apartment for suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers met with the victim who they observed had red watery eyes and blood coming from his nose. He declined medical attention. Officers met with the female suspect who did not have any injuries.
Officers learned the couple had been in a domestic relationship for four years and have a child in common. During the course of a verbal argument, the woman allegedly struck the man in the face with a closed fist causing injury. Bail: $3,137.
