Care Flight called after bike crash on Hobart trail
Carson City fire and rescue were responding this afternoon to a bicycle crash on a trail about a mile up Hobart Canyon. A man in his 50s reportedly suffered injuries to his ribs and pelvis. He was conscious and alert, according to a bicyclist with him. The call came into dispatch at 12:46 p.m.
The area where the man crashed was near Hobart Road and Numaga Pass Road.
Due to the nature of the man's injuries, Care Flight was ordered and was to land nearby.
One person was flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno earlier today following a two-vehicle crash involving a red compact vehicle and an SUV.
The crash was reported at around 11:40 a.m. in the area of Carson and Nye streets.
The condition of the person flown by Care Flight is not known. The injured person was driving the smaller vehicle, according to dispatch.
The driver of the SUV was slightly injured but declined medical treatment, according to dispatch.
