Nevada's chief economist to provide 2020 forecast at Carson City Chamber luncheon
Nevada Chief Economist David Schmidt will be the featured speaker at the Carson City Chamber Soup’s On! luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Gold Dust West beginning at 11:30 a.m. The public is invited to hear Schmidt give his reasoning behind his statement that “Nevada is statistically overdue for a recession.”
The recession word always gives pause to those who don’t want to experience another great recession. Schmidt has been Nevada’s Chief Economist since February 2018 and prior to his current appointment, he served as Chief Financial Officer for the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation's Financial Management Division.
Cost is $20 per person and includes lunch. Looking ahead, 2020 could be a pivotal year since it also is a presidential election year and that could affect the economy of this state and nationally.
Reservations may be made by the end of the business day Friday, Oct. 11 by calling 882-1565 or online by going here.
