What, When, Where: Dayton Valley Days 30 year anniversary full list of events, Sept. 15-16

The theme of the 30th anniversary year of Dayton Valley Days this Saturday and Sunday is “Community,” celebrating both the 100th year anniversary of the Dayton High School building which has since become a community center, and the community of Dayton Valley as a whole.
The main events Sept. 15-16 include:
- Kiwanas Club pancake breakfast
- Silent auction
- Dayton Valley Days Parade on Saturday
- Pet parade on Sunday
- 8th annual Chili cook off
- Street festival, tours and crafts
- Food booths and entertainment
- Child fun center “Kid Zone” hosted by the Boys and Girls Club

On Saturday, Sept. 15, the fun begins with the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, from 7:30 - 10 am in front of the Dayton Community Center.
8:30 - 9:30 am, Dayton Valley Days Parade sign-in and staging, located on the North side of the Dayton Courthouse.
From 9 am - 5 pm the events include:
16th Annual Gold Creek Show-N-Shine sign-in and staging, at Our Park on Highway 50 and River Street. The Car Show runs from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm, Saturday only, on Main Street.
Boomerang’s Silent Auction, inside the Dayton Community Center.
Kids Zone, including games and a bounce house, next to the Dayton Community Center.
Celebrating Old Town Dayton, there will be a street festival, tours, craft, food booths, and entertainment.
The Dayton Museum will also be open, located at Shady Lane at Logan Alley.
The Firehouse and Jail will be open for visitors, located on Pike Street by Gold Creek.
Authentic motor railroad crew “speeder” cars from Pike Street across from the Odeon Hall and Saloon, to Highway 50. Kids under 12 ride free all day, donations are suggested.
From 9 am - 12 pm, the Pinewood Derby Car Building will take place in the Kids Zone next to the Dayton Community Center.
10 am marks the beginning of the Dayton Valley Days Parade, beginning at Main and Pike Streets, and continuing down Pike Street.
From 11 am - 5 pm, there will be Gold Panning between Pike Street and the Railroad Depot.
The 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off, People’s Choice begins at 11 am on Logan Alley, and last until the cooks are out of chili!
Funds raised from the chili cook-off will go towards the Boys and Girls Club of Mason Valley’s Dayton clubs.
From 1-3 pm, Pinewood Derby Racing will be held next to the Dayton Community Center.
On Sunday, Sept. 16, the day begins with a second Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast in front of the Dayton Community Center.
From 9 am - 2 pm, Boomerang’s Silent Auction will continue, inside the Dayton Community Center.
Gold panning, Speeder Car Rides, Firehouse and Jail Tours, the Street Festival, tours, craft, food booths, and entertainment will continue from 9 am - 3 pm.
The Nevada Four Wheel Drive Association will be on Main Street, Sunday only, from 9 am - 3 pm.
The Dayton Museum will be open from 9 am - 4 pm, located on Shady Lane at Logan Alley.
From 11 - 11:30 am, the Pet Parade sign-in will occur in front of the Dayton Community Center.
The Chili Cook-Off continues on Logan Alley from 11 am, until the cooks are out.
At noon, the Pet Parade begins on Pike Street.
Boomerang’s Silent Auction Results will be announced inside the Dayton Community Center at 2 pm.
The Chili Cook-Off winners will be announced at 3 pm, in front of the Dayton Community Center.
