Carson City arrests: Two jailed in separate threats cases, another for domestic battery
A 59-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 1:20 p.m. in the 100 block of East Long Street on misdemeanor suspicion of making threats. The man allegedly made threatening phone messages to the victim, that were played for a sheriff’s office detective.
The suspect admitted to making the phone calls. The case is under investigation as the victim also had the front door to his residence intentionally set on fire and tires on two vehicles flattened. The suspect denied damaging the victim’s property. Bail: $537.
In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 1:02 p.m. in the area of William and Roop streets for misdemeanor suspicion of making threats. According to the arrest report, the man had been causing a disturbance and making threats in a motel lobby in the 300 block of Stewart Street and at a William Street bank, spitting candy at a teller as he was leaving and being verbally abusive. Bail: $537.
— An 83-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 8:44 p.m. in the 1300 block of Jerry Lane on suspicion of domestic battery. The man, who had been drinking, allegedly threw a glass at a roommate, striking him in the leg, causing the glass to shatter. The suspect had been arguing with roommates and was upset that they ran out of alcohol. The man was asked about the incident. He became irate and began yelling at an officer and other deputies in the location, challenging everyone to fight with him, according to the arrest report. He provided a partial preliminary breath test of .85. Bail: $3,137
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 4:24 p.m. in the 900 block of North Saliman Road on misdemeanor suspicion of possession of stolen property. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that had stolen license plates. An investigation revealed the man allegedly obtained the plates from a coworker in Reno. Bail: $1,132.
— A Dayton man was booked Tuesday into Carson City jail on misdemeanor warrants for contempt of court and violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $6,315.
— A 50-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, 11:55 a.m. in the area of Winnie and Roop streets on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail: $500.
— A 19-year-old transient was booked into jail Tuesday, 5:15 p.m. for a misdemeanor violation of bail conditions warrant. Bail: $3,000.
— A 24-year-old Markleeville woman was booked into jail Tuesday, 5:15 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
