NHP identifies Reno resident in fatal August 6 crash on Mount Rose Highway
The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a Reno resident who died in a fatal crash that happened Friday, August 6 at State Route 431, Mount Rose Highway.
Nikolas Emerson, a 29-year-old Reno resident, died at the scene of the crash, which was reported to NHP at 5:56 p.m. near Washoe County mile Marker 17, according to NHP.
A preliminary investigation shows that a blue 2020 Subaru Crosstrek was traveling westbound on SR-431. A gold 2004 GMC Yukon was driving eastbound on SR-431. For reasons unknown, the Subaru crossed into the eastbound travel lane and the front of the Subaru struck the front of the GMC, according to NHP. Both vehicles caught fire.
Nikolas Emerson was the front passenger of the Subaru.
This crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) - NHP Case #210800370.
