Tour through history: Carson City Ghost Walk re-lives spooky past
The state capital's rich, spooky, and intriguing history was explored Saturday during the Carson City Ghost Walk.
Spectators joined the minor arcana (60 minutes) or major arcana (100 minutes), walking tours that re-lived the delightfully mysterious and enjoyable background of Carson City.
Between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., the tours explored the downtown district's historic businesses, homes, and mansions.
Along with the lingering spirits from centuries long ago, the Carson City Ghost Walk featured haunted and paranormal stories, as well as gossip from the past.
Stops on the tour included the St. Charles Hotel, Ferris Mansion, Wrinkle Mansion, and Sweeney Building; each with their own unique, eerie, ghostly sightings and figures.
Adding on to the celebration, a special Wild West Halloween story was presented by the Nevada Gunfighters, bringing lots of cheers and applause from the audience.
Tour leader Lily Grajeda described the overall success of the event.
“I thought it was absolutely incredible,” she said. “Just because I really think it's important to preserve the history of the capital of our great state. It's really nice to tour the city as well, and the people really appreciate, too. We had a great time.”
