Performers delight sold out crowd at Lindquist benefit in Carson City
A sold-out crowd packed the Cadillac Cafe inside the Silver Oak Golf and Convention Center in Carson City Friday night, raising much-needed funds for local cancer patient Mark Lindquist.
The event, dubbed "Mission Remission 2," was headlined by HYPNOT!C, starring hypnotist Dan Kimm, who wowed the audience with the feats of clinical hypnosis.
Kimm, a certified clinical hypnotist and former Carson City resident, helped several eager volunteers from the audience visualize their potentials through a hyper-self-awareness technique common to hypnosis.
Ahead of Kimm were also comedians Bob Johnston and Ethan Pickett, with whom the audience roared with laughter. Johnston is a former Carson City resident, while Pickett hails from Reno.
Just prior to the show, Kimm read Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell's proclamation, signed earlier in the day at city hall, declaring Friday “Mark Lindquist Day Of Hope, Inspiration and Healing.”
Proceeds from Friday night's Mission Remission 2 fundraiser go directly to Lindquist, a 48 year-old father of two and former Carson City resident battling cancer for the second time in his life. Lindquist lost his wife to pancreatic cancer two years ago.
